Ever played Dungeon Siege and somebody shows up on your game that has this awesome looking character that you just cant figure out how to get... well this teaches you how to make it happen!! First thing you need to know is what you need to make this happen first you will need the Tank Viewer to extract the files... then you will need the Tank Creator to retank the files... Then you will need a word pad "witch is on your pc already or you can use the Skrit Pad witch is easier to use...
Now that you have all that stuff lets begin shall
we...
First you will want to open the Tank Viewer
There is an open button in the upper right hand
corner
click on that 
now your going to be opening your characters save file witch is located in... My Documents/ Dungeon Siege/ Save You will want to pick a character that was saved in the multiplayer game because the characters in the single player game wont work these will be the files that says your characters name followed by .dsparty "before you do this it is wise to make a backup copy of your character" after you open the file you want it should look like this...
Ok the next step to do is to make a new folder that's easy to get to "like on your desktop" name the folder the same name as your character... Now your going to want to highlight the three files in the main box and click your extract button...
Then after you select the new folder that you just created on your desktop or where you put it press the extract button and close out the Tank Viewer... Now that you have done this the next step is to open that folder then open the Party.gas file... If you downloaded the Skrit pad you should extract that zip file and place the whole folder in your program files in your local disk C If you don't know where that is then open My Computer then open Local Disk C then open program files cut and past the whole folder that got extracted from the zip file in there and close everything... Now right click on the party.gas file and click open with... Click the browse button and browse to Local Disk C/Program Files/ Skrit Pad/Skrit Pad like so...
Click open and it will open the party.gas file for you and should look like this...
OK we are getting close to our goal of changing your skins... how ever that's not the only thing you can do here... this is where all of the hacking of your character goes on... but I am sure you will learn how to do all that in due time... now to get to your skins you will want to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page till it looks like so...
Ok now first you have to find a skin that's already in the game but as something else "like a banner or a wall or a book etc..." for now I will just list a few banners you can use and I will add a skins list later on the web site.... here is 5 banners you can use as skins... b_i_csl_banner-01; b_i_csl_banner-02; b_i_csl_banner-03; b_i_csl_banner-04; b_i_csl_banner-05; play around with them mix them up or just use one for the whole body... Ok in order to put these in as your skin you will have to delete what's there first... then just copy from here and paste them on your characters skins block like so...
After you've got your skins the way you want them its time to change the files back to .dsparty... first you are going to want to save the changes you have made to your dsparty.gas file then you can close that if you want to... this is where the Tank Creator comes into play... open the Tank Creator like so...
and your going to press the browse button for source like so...
browse to your folder that has your character that you just edited the skins for and press OK... then it should look like so...
now you will want to chose an output location...
for file name type in your character's name followed by .dsparty make sure you put a "DOT" between the name and dsparty... After that you will want to change the Save as type to All Files"." like so...
which would be in your My Documents/Dungeon Siege/Save folder where you got the character from in the first place... should look something like this now...
Now before you Click Create! you will want to go and delete the character's .dsparty.bak file in that folder first... then click Create! there you go play the game and enjoy your new skins... I will be adding a skins list to the site later but its big so it might not be right away... |
